1681 Eau de Parfum

carthusia 1681 eau de parfum bottle and box

A thousand different intensities converge into a sensation of refined complexity. Top notes of Mandarin, Bergamot and Rosemary, middle notes of Lavender and Black Pepper and base tones of Incense and Cedarwood, all blend together to create the fascination of a distinctly noble perfume of great character. 1681 possesses the power to seduce, conquering with its soft intensity and with a name that is easy to remember and worthy of becoming a legend. Because only a perfume with a dazzling past can become a classic.

In 1681, the monks of Capri began to prepare the first perfume essences based on local herbs and spices.

Since then, even though much has changed, the fine care and rigorous observance of natural methods (including fragrances still made with locally-sourced ingredients) have remained substantially the same.
